Hello, I am Helen Bibby and I work as a teacher, trainer and consultant in varying aspects of SEND and child development in the Early Years and Key Stage 1. My passion for education does not simply include the child, but also to empower the practitioner and parents/carers.
‘Early Years’ education is about initially forming purposeful, positive and responsive relationships between adult and child. This meaningful relationship for adult and child starts from the moment the child is born - some would say even before birth. Every child’s ‘learning story’ is unique. How they perceive and interact with the world around them expresses their personality, interests, learning styles and thought processes. However, what if the child’s unique ‘learning story’, is hidden beneath what seems to the practitioner to be a confusing pattern of learning behaviours or the child requires a varied range of learning and teaching strategies to effectively develop within the prime and specific areas of learning.
